Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has played down growing talk of a quadruple while making it clear his side approach every competition with the intention of lifting trophies.

The Gunners booked their place at Wembley on Tuesday night after overcoming Chelsea in the EFL Cup semi-final.

Arsenal currently sit top of both the Premier League and Champions League tables, remain in the FA Cup and will meet either Manchester City or Newcastle United in the EFL Cup final.

With Mikel Arteta’s side competing on all fronts, belief among supporters is building that this could be a historic campaign for the North London club.

Asked about Arsenal’s chances of winning all four trophies, Odegaard insisted the focus remains firmly on taking things one game at a time.

“We play to win everything,” Odegaard told Men in Blazers. “We want to win every game we play, every competition we’re in, every trophy. That’s the mentality.

“The most important thing is staying in the moment and not thinking too far ahead or getting carried away with the bigger picture.

“For us, it’s about winning the next game. That’s always the target.

“It’s a good position to be in, still competing in all the tournaments. That’s exactly where we want to be, and it gives the squad something to push for. We just have to stay focused and try to win every single match.”

Victory over Chelsea means Arsenal will contest their ninth EFL Cup final, with the season shaping up as a potential landmark moment in the club’s history.
