Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has delivered an encouraging update on the fitness of key first-team players Bukayo Saka, Martin Ødegaard and Jurrien Timber as the Gunners enter a crucial phase of the season.

Speaking to the media, Arteta confirmed that Saka is making strong progress in his recovery from a hip issue and could return to action sooner rather than later. The England winger has been sidelined in recent weeks, but the Arsenal boss sounded optimistic about his imminent comeback.

“Bukayo Saka’s hip is getting much better, so hopefully very soon he will be with us – very soon, very soon,” Arteta said.

There was also positive news regarding club captain Martin Ødegaard, who has been managing a minor fitness concern. According to Arteta, the Norwegian playmaker is close to full recovery, with only a short wait expected before he is available again.

“Martin Ødegaard again is getting better, it will be a matter of days we believe,” he added.

Defender Jurrien Timber, who has endured an injury-hit spell since joining the club, has also been given the all-clear. Arteta confirmed that the Dutch international is fit and not facing any setbacks.

“Jurrien Timber is fine,” the Arsenal manager stated.

The updates will come as a major boost to Arsenal supporters, with the club competing on multiple fronts and key fixtures looming. The potential return of Saka and Ødegaard, in particular, would significantly strengthen Arteta’s options as the Gunners push for silverware in the closing stages of the campaign.
