Khephren Thuram has built anticipation ahead of Saturday’s Derby d’Italia showdown with Inter, where he is set to face his brother Marcus Thuram on opposite sides.
Inter and Juventus meet on matchday 25 in a fixture that dominates the weekend schedule, with family pride adding an extra subplot to one of Italian football’s fiercest rivalries. Speaking to Sky Sport, the Juventus midfielder shared his thoughts ahead of the encounter.
“We talk every day, but we never discuss the matches,” Khephren said of his relationship with Marcus. “I’m expecting a big game. It will be difficult for both teams.”
The Frenchman also addressed the inevitable question regarding their father, former Juventus defender Lilian Thuram. “He’ll stay neutral,” Khephren joked. “But since I’m the youngest, he’ll support me a little bit more.”
Reflecting on his own performances, Thuram expressed optimism about his form. “I feel good now. Everything is behind me and I’m ready. I know I’m lacking a few goals, but if I keep working, they’ll arrive soon.”
He also praised his relationship with head coach Luciano Spalletti, highlighting the belief instilled in him. “The coach asks a lot from me, but above all he makes me understand that I’m strong. It’s great working with him. He pushes us to improve, he’s demanding with everyone, and he wants me constantly moving and reading the play early.”
