Another barnburner duel pitting Ayaka Miura and Chihiro Sawada has been added to ONE Samurai 1 inside Tokyo’s Ariake Arena on Wednesday, April 29.
The two Japanese warriors collide in an atomweight MMA battle that promises to be fireworks from start to finish.
Miura returns in search of a sixth straight triumph and another massive step toward the ONE women’s atomweight MMA world championship.
‘Zombie’ has achieved four highlight-reel finishes from her last five triumphs, submitting Juliana Otalora, Ritu Phogat, Macarena Aragon, and Meng Bo.

The Tribe Tokyo MMA challenger was initially slated for a world title battle against divisional queen Denice Zamboanga at ONE 173 in Tokyo, Japan. Unfortunately, the Filipino warrior had to withdraw from the November matchup due to health reasons.
Looking to derail Miura’s world title dreams at ONE Samurai 1 is Sawada, who has been inching closer to the atomweight crown with each passing fight inside the ONE Circle.
The 28-year-old warrior debuted in the organization with a second-round submission win against Iran’s Sanaz Fayazmanesh.
Since then, she’s earned five additional wins over the likes of Jihin Radzuan, Itsuki Hirata, Aragon, Noelle Grandjean, and Natalie Salcedo.
While Sawada has looked every bit impressive, particularly bringing a more refined striking arsenal into her recent fights, the grappling specialist can expect to be pushed to the limit against Miura when they collide on the inaugural ONE Samurai showcase.
The same can be said for Miura, who cannot underestimate Sawada’s credentials on the canvas. ‘Zombie’ may be known for her ‘Ayaka Lock,’ —a scarf-hold Americana—but Sawada’s judoka expertise may give her the cheat code to survive her fellow Japanese fighter’s trademark submission.
The main event of ONE Championship’s hotly anticipated return to ‘The Land of the Rising Sun’ sees Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Takeru Segawa renew their rivalry slightly over a year after they shared the Circle.
This time, the pair face off for the ONE interim flyweight kickboxing world title in Tokyo, Japan.
Before the two striking titans collide, Jonathan Haggerty defends his ONE bantamweight kickboxing world title against Yuki Yoza.
The third world title tilt confirmed for the showdown features Yuya Wakamatsu’s ONE flyweight MMA world title defense against Uzbekistani powerhouse Avazbek Kholmirzaev.
More fights will be announced for the April 29 card in the coming weeks. Stay tuned to Sportskeeda MMA for any updates.
