Cole Palmer is content at Chelsea and has no intention of leaving the club anytime soon, despite recent speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United.
According to Football Insider, the 23-year-old has no plans to walk away from Stamford Bridge, while Chelsea are equally uninterested in entertaining any approaches. That stance represents a major setback for Manchester United, who had been loosely linked with a potential move.
Palmer has faced some measured criticism over the past year, largely due to a drop in open-play goals and a slight dip in form. Those issues have been linked to recurring fitness problems, which have limited his rhythm and consistency.
Extended spells on the sidelines have naturally fuelled speculation about his long-term future. Reports suggested United could be prepared to table a significant offer for the attacker, with claims that Palmer, a reported boyhood United supporter despite his Manchester City background, might be open to a switch.
Those suggestions now appear wide of the mark. Palmer is understood to be settled at Chelsea and focused on his role within the squad.
Chelsea, for their part, have no intention of selling. Palmer is under contract until 2033, giving the club firm control over his future and placing them in a position to demand an enormous, potentially record-breaking fee if they ever chose to negotiate.
Within the club, Palmer is viewed as a cornerstone of the project and effectively a franchise player. Selling a key figure to a direct rival is not being considered, which further shuts down any prospect of a move.
Palmer’s comfort at Stamford Bridge only strengthens Chelsea’s position, with the club even considering improved terms in the future. For now, Manchester United’s interest goes nowhere, regardless of how much they may be willing to spend.
