Novak Djokovic’s withdrawal from the Miami Open 2026 could have unintended consequences for him at the upcoming Majors, according to former American pro Steve Johnson. The Serb was recently in action at the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells, where he lost to defending champion Jack Draper in the fourth round.
Djokovic was already feeling a little worn down physically during the tournament, and ultimately announced his decision to skip the Miami Open due to a shoulder injury. He will lose 650 ranking points as a result, since he made the final in Miami a year ago. He could leave the top four, although that will depend on the performance of his peers in Miami.
