Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay is reportedly considering a move back to England this summer.
According to reports in Italy, the former Manchester United player has enjoyed a productive spell in Serie A but is keen on returning home “sooner or later.” McTominay and his partner, Cam Reading, are said to be contemplating a relocation to England as the next transfer window approaches.
Napoli are understood to be aware that interest in the Scotland international could intensify in the coming months.
The club’s global business development officer, Leonardo Giammarioli, recently admitted concern over the situation when speaking to talkSPORT.
“Yes, of course I’m worried. But ultimately, especially Scott who is a very nice guy, we’re happy if he takes the next step in a couple of years – maybe not now, maybe not next year, but he deserves it,” he said.
“When an offer like that comes in, there’s not much you can do when the player wants to leave and money is important. It’s difficult for Italian clubs, the league continues to lose revenue.”
McTominay remains under contract with Napoli until 2028, placing the Serie A side in a strong position should formal interest materialise.
