Cristiano Ronaldo has continued to train with Al-Nassr despite his ongoing protests this week.
The Portuguese forward is weighing up his future in Saudi Arabia amid concerns over the level of financial support Al-Nassr receive compared to rivals such as reigning champions Al-Hilal.
Ronaldo was left out of Al-Nassr’s 1-0 win over Al-Riyadh on Monday, with reports suggesting he could consider leaving the club despite having a £43m release clause written into his contract.
However, according to Portuguese outlet Record, Ronaldo has remained in Riyadh and has not skipped any training sessions at the club’s facilities.
Al-Nassr are preparing for a clash against Al-Ittihad on Friday, but although Ronaldo is training with the squad, he is not expected to feature as his protest is set to continue for several weeks until an agreement is reached.
Al-Hilal currently sit one point ahead of Al-Nassr at the top of the Saudi Pro League, a gap that could increase if Ronaldo is again unavailable this week.
Ronaldo, who turns 41 on Thursday, joined Al-Nassr in 2022 following his departure from Manchester United, becoming the highest-paid footballer in history with a reported annual wage of £177m.
The forward has faced criticism in some quarters, with observers pointing out that while he is calling for greater investment at the club, his salary represents a significant financial commitment for Al-Nassr.
