Bayern Munich have officially announced that Serge Gnabry has put pen to paper on a new contract that will see him remain at the club until June 30, 2028, bringing an end to months of uncertainty surrounding his future.
The 30-year-old winger, whose previous agreement was set to run out this summer, has been a central figure for the Bavarians since arriving in 2017 and has played an important role throughout one of the most dominant spells in the club’s history.
Reacting to the news, Gnabry said: “I’m really happy to be staying at Bayern for the coming years. The discussions were always very positive. When I first joined Bayern, I never imagined I’d be here for a full decade by the time this contract ends.
“My aim is to keep pushing forward. We are a strong group and capable of achieving something special. The team, the coaching staff, the club, the supporters, the city and the overall environment all played a part in my decision. Bayern feels like home to me.”
Born in Stuttgart, Gnabry started his senior career at Arsenal before returning to Germany with Werder Bremen. He later signed for Bayern Munich and spent his first season on loan at Hoffenheim, where he continued to develop before establishing himself as a regular starter in Munich.
Since joining Bayern, Gnabry has featured in 311 competitive matches, scoring 100 goals and providing 69 assists. During that time, he has won six Bundesliga titles, two DFB-Pokals, the UEFA Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and five German Super Cups.
On the international stage, he was part of the Germany side that won the UEFA Under-21 European Championship in 2017 and has gone on to earn 57 senior caps, scoring 25 goals.
