Tottenham captain Cristian Romero has appeared to question the club’s lack of transfer activity following their 2-2 Premier League draw with Manchester City on Sunday, February 1.
Spurs went into half-time two goals down against Pep Guardiola’s side before Dominic Solanke struck twice after the break to rescue a point.
Tottenham were without nine players through injury, with Romero, 27, also forced off at half-time and replaced by midfielder Pape Matar Sarr.
Despite the ongoing injury crisis, Spurs added just two first-team players during the window, Conor Gallagher and young left-back Souza.
Romero later took to Instagram to make his feelings clear.
“Great effort from all my teammates yesterday, they were incredible,” he wrote.
“I wanted to be available to help them even though I wasn’t feeling well, especially since we only had 11 players available. Unbelievable but true.
“We’ll keep showing up and taking responsibility to turn this around, working hard and staying together.
“All that’s left is to thank all of you for being there and for always supporting us, the fans, @spursofficial.”
