Tottenham have reached an agreement for Igor Tudor to take charge as interim manager following the dismissal of Thomas Frank.

Spurs sit 16th in the Premier League table and parted ways with Frank this week, just eight months into his tenure, after a 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United.

Former Croatia and Juventus defender Tudor is set to oversee the team until the end of the season, according to reports from David Ornstein. The 47-year-old is expected to sign a short-term deal running through the current campaign, with no option for a permanent appointment. The recruitment process was reportedly led by Venkatesham and Lange.

Tudor previously managed Juventus after being appointed in March last year, steering the Italian side to a fourth-place finish in Serie A and securing Champions League qualification, losing just once in his 11 matches in charge.

However, he was dismissed in October following an eight-game winless run — an unsettling statistic for a Tottenham side that has claimed only two victories in its last 17 league outings.

He now faces the immediate challenge of guiding Spurs away from the relegation zone, with an appointment expected before next weekend’s North London derby against league leaders Arsenal.

Tottenham currently hold a five-point cushion above the drop zone, and the decision to install Tudor represents a calculated risk given his limited managerial experience at the very top level.

An official announcement is anticipated before Monday, as supporters await confirmation of their new interim head coach.
