Illan Meslier has allegedly finished his health checks and put pen to paper on an agreement that secures his summer transfer to Arsenal.

The 26-year-old shot-stopper, who entered free agency late last month, devoted six campaigns to Elland Road. During that time, he registered 215 total outings across all tournaments, aiding the squad in achieving two Premier League promotions in 2020 and 2025.

Sources suggest he will step in for Tommy Setford to become the team’s third-string keeper under head coach Mikel Arteta, who currently boasts David Raya and Kepa Arrizabalaga in his squad.

In a swiftly developing transaction, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano verified the acquisition on Wednesday morning.

“Illan Meslier to Arsenal, here we go! Health evaluations are complete and the arrangement is finalized with the ex-Leeds United keeper.

“Paperwork was also executed following the medical procedures conducted in London on Tuesday.

“Meslier agreed to the #AFC vision, just as @gunnerblog detailed.”

Notably, Meslier dropped below both Karl Darlow and Lucas Perri in the rotation at Leeds during the previous campaign, failing to make a single competitive outing under boss Daniel Farke.

Meslier arrives as Arsenal’s second acquisition of the summer, following Piero Hincapie, who recently finalized a £34.5M permanent switch after an impressive loan stint.

TalkSPORT additionally indicates that Arrizabalaga is poised to depart this window, effectively elevating Meslier to Arsenal’s backup keeper, which could see him playing significant minutes in cup fixtures.
